Andrew C. Nelson joined MehaffyWeber, P.C. in 2010 in the firm's Beaumont office. Andrew graduated from Texas A & M University in 2006 and received a J.D., summa cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 2010. He was named Valedictorian of his law school class.
While at South Texas, he was a member of the Law Review, Order of the Barristers, Order of the Lytae and was Assistant Articles Editor of the Law Review. Andrew was also the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards while in law school.

Education
Andrew graduated from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2006. He graduated summa cum laude as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2010 from South Texas College of Law.
Activities
While at South Texas College of Law, Andrew was a member of the Law Review, Order of the Barristers, and Order of the Lytae. He received the Valedictorian Award, National Best Brief (Author) and National Semi-Finalist awards at the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Championship (2010), was a member of the championship team at the TYLA State Moot Court Competition (2010), and a Semi-Finalist at the Conrad Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Tournament (2009).
While in law school, Andrew served as a Research Assistant under Professor Dru Stevenson (2008-2009) and Professor Kevin Yamamoto (from 2009-2010). He also served as Judicial Intern to the Honorable David Hittner, United States District Court of the Southern District of Texas in 2008. He was also the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards such as the CALI Award (top grade in class) from 2007-2010. Andrew currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Appellate Advocacy at South Texas College of Law.
Additionally, Andrew is a 2007 graduate of the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring. Prior to attending law school, he worked for the Texas Association of Sports Officials as a high school football official and high school baseball umpire from 2004 to 2007.

Andrew is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Jefferson County Young Lawyers' Association, and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
