Darah Eckert joined MehaffyWeber in 2002 and was named a shareholder with the firm in 2007. Darah has practiced in a wide range of civil litigation, but primarily has defended products liability, premise liability and personal injury suits with a concentration in toxic tort litigation and general civil litigation. Darah also advises clients on business formation, employment and human resource matters.Areas of Concentration

Darah received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Government in 1992 and received her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 1998. In 2009, Darah received a Certificate of Achievement in the SHRM sponsored class, "Essentials of HR Management" given at Rice University.Activities
Darah Volunteers with the Houston Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. She is an avid Longhorn fan and active alumna of The University of Texas.Memberships and Honors
While at South Texas College of Law, Darah was involved in the mock trial program and received first place in the Gallagher Lewis & Downey Mock Trial Competition.
Darah is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American and Houston Bar Associations and Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Texas Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce.
Darah was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a “ Texas Rising Star”
from 2005 to 2009.
Representative Experience
- Obtained a defense verdict following a two week trial for claims made by a contract employee who worked at a Fortune 100 client's premises who claimed his cancer was related to his work at the client's premise.
- Obtained a summary judgment on premises liability claims made by personal injury claimant against a Fortune 500 client.
- Regional counsel for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 clients in cases involving claims of product defect and premises injuries.
