Jim Graves has been a shareholder with MehaffyWeber, P.C. since 1981. His practice consists primarily of product liability, multi-party toxic tort litigation and environmental law, including litigation, mediation and appearance before state and federal governmental agencies. Before joining MehaffyWeber, Jim practiced with Graves & Smith from 1971 – 1980. His practice and experience includes statewide representation for several silicosis defendants, former General Counsel and Corporate officer for a major Gulf Coast shipyard including oversight of all litigation, and General Counsel for Sabine River Authority including all phases of representation for more than 35 years.

Education

Jim graduated with a B.B.A. from The University of Mississippi in 1958. He received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University in 1961.

Memberships and Honors

While at SMU, Jim was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the Southwestern Law Journal. He is past President and Director of the Orange County Bar Association and is a member of the Jefferson County Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the Texas Bar Foundation.

Activities

Jim has been very active in the community of Orange and has held the office of President for many organizations including Orange Memorial Hospital Corporation, Orange Chamber of Commerce, Orange Rotary Club and the West Orange Cove School Board.
