Patricia Chamblin began practicing at MehaffyWeber in 1978. She became a shareholder in 1982. During her 30 years of practice, Pat has specialized in representing health care providers and railroads. She more recently has focused on appellate work and mediation. Her health care work involves defending hospitals, physicians and other health care providers in health care liability and premises claims. She also provides legal counsel to hospitals on a wide variety of matters including medical staff and patient care issues.

Education
Pat graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1978. She was a member of the Order of the Coif. She graduated from Abilene Christian College with a B.B.A., magna cum laude in 1975.
Memberships and Honors
Pat was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates, Houston Chapter. She is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She received the Texas Center Professionalism Award from the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and the Jefferson County Bar Association and the Judge John Hannah, Jr. Award for Public Service by the Eastern District of Texas Bench/Bar in 2010. She was named Outstanding Young Lawyer for Jefferson County in 1990 and she named Jefferson County Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2004.
Pat has been recognized in "Best Lawyers in America®" since 1991 and Texas Monthly magazine as a "Texas Super Lawyer®" since 2003. She has also been named a "Top 50 Woman Super Lawyers®" and a "Top 100 Super Lawyers-Houston Region®" from 2007 to 2010. She has also been selected by HTexas Magazine as one of "Houston's Top Lawyers", in 2008 and 2009.
Activities
Pat is a Past President of the Jefferson County Bar Association Foundation, the Jefferson County Bar Association and Michelle F. Mehaffy Inns of Court. She is Chair of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Committee of the State Bar of Texas. She is past Chair of the District III-A Grievance Committee. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. Pat is on the Board of Directors of the Texas Bar Foundation and Texas Laywers Insurance Exchange.
