Joe W. Groft is a shareholder in the firm’s San Antonio office. Joe received his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Texas. Prior to joining MehaffyWeber, Joe obtained valuable legal experience working for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, The Honorable Judge Rickhoff, and Walsh-Anderson. Since 2012, he has focused his practice on civil litigation, defending individuals and companies who have been named as defendants in lawsuits.
In 2002 he graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and thereafter acquired operational management experience working for some of the largest construction wholesale suppliers in the nation. Through that experience, Joe gained an insider’s view of personnel management, fleet management/trucking, the bidding and contracting process, inventory management, and business in general. He was recently recognized in the Texas Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters in 2022.
Joe and his lovely wife Michelle have two children. He is active in his community, recreational sports and serving in various capacities where he attends church. His preferred pastimes are spending time with his wife and children, playing basketball, softball, and tennis. Joe is fluent in Spanish and enjoys interacting with his Spanish-language clients.
