DuPont Legal Minority Job Fair - MehaffyWeber Houston, August, 2007

DuPont Legal Minority Job Fairs are hosted regionally by four PLFs across the United States in August of each year. The host Primary Law Firms working in conjunction with Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, to make these events a success were MehaffyWeber, Houston, Texas; Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon, Chicago, IL; Potter, Anderson & Corroon LLP, Wilmington, DE; and Weston, Benshoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava & MacCuish LLP, Los Angeles, California. DuPont Corporate Counsel and representatives also participate in the job fairs and address the minority candidates.

The DuPont Minority Job Fairs provide opportunities for law firms in the PLF network to interview highly qualified minority law students who are seeking associate positions with those firms. The students benefit from valuable interview experience, receiving helpful advice on succeeding as lawyers after law school, and gaining insight into the legal field from the client's perspective.

Dawn Tezino and Trey Sandoval of MehaffyWeber spoke at the Job Fair luncheon to both the attorneys and students regarding the experiences they had during their clerkships at the firm and the interview process. Overall, the DuPont Minority Job Fairs are a very rewarding experience for both the PLFs and the minority law school candidates, and it is another step toward advancing diversity initiatives, one of the core values of the DuPont Legal Model.
