Michele Smith becomes a Local Rules Committee Member for the Texas Eastern Federal District Court for the term of 2006 - 2007
The Local Rules Committee studies the local rules as requested by Federal judges and practitioners and revises and clarifies the rules upon study by the committee.
Michele Y. Smith, a shareholder with MehaffyWeber, P.C. since 2000, has a significant background in representing companies in product liability and premises liability suits. During her career, she has represented defendants in numerous state and federal courts. Her trial work includes representation of businesses in medical malpractice, premises liability and employment-related litigation. Michele is also experienced in representing a variety of businesses in sophisticated mass tort causes of action involving numerous chemical substances and exposures. She has also been on the coordinating team for the statewide defense of several clients. She is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and serves as a District Representative for the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.
