Dawn R. Tezino, Treasurer and Vice Chair Elect of the National Bar Association, Commercial Law Section, and several other Executive Board Members, including Chair, Kimberly Phillips (Shell), Vice Chair and Chair Elect, David Cade (Boeing), Past Secretary, DeMonica Gladney (ExxonMobil), Greg Wesley (Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan LLP) and Vickie Turner (Wilson Petty Kosmo & Turner LLP) spoke with students at the Rainbow Dreams Academy about "How to Become a Lawyer" during the Section's 22nd Annual Corporate Counsel Conference in Henderson, NV on February 18, 2009.
In keeping with the Section's community outreach efforts in New Orleans, the Section made a $25,000 gift to the Rainbow Dreams Academy, a public charter school sponsored by the Clark County School District and committed to providing students with a strong educational foundation. There are currently 150 students enrolled in grades K-5th at the Academy. The Section's gift will fund the creation of a functional school library, including the purchase of computers and books. The Section is thankful to its members and sponsors for their continued financial support, which makes these types of gifts possible. Also pictured are Carol Threats (Principal) and Diane Pollard (Chairperson of Rainbow Dreams Foundation).
