On April 30, 2010, Bob Black, the Managing Shareholder of MehaffyWeber Weber, was voted President-Elect of the State Bar of Texas. Bob has served as chair of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, Policy Manual Subcommittee, Facilities & Equipment Subcommittee, and co-chaired the Nominations and Elections Subcommittee. He was honored last year by the State Bar Board of Directors and past presidents with a Certificate of Merit for his leadership and outstanding contributions to the legal profession, and is a recipient of a Presidential Citation. Bob has held various officer positions in the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association and is a past president of the Jefferson County Bar Association. He has served on two statewide committees on legal services to the poor. Bob is a frequent speaker on negotiation and mediation. He is a member of the State Bar's Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation Sections.
Bob Black has been with MehaffyWeber since his graduation in 1980 from Texas Tech University School of Law and has served as its Managing Shareholder since 1998. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation and mediation - an area in which he is a sought after speaker. As a mediator, he has mediated more 3,000 disputes and has arbitrated many more.
