MehaffyWeber has a wide-ranging environmental law practice covering all aspects of the federal and state environmental regulations. The firms' environmental clients range from multi-national chemical concerns to municipalities to sole proprietorships.
We provide counseling and representation in the following areas:
- Permitting, licensing and registration applications and hearings
- Compliance counseling and enforcement defense
- Transactional issues, including audits, due diligence and allocation of environmental risk; and
- Litigation of air, soil, water, groundwater and underground contamination and cleanup issues
The lawyers practicing in this area have varied experience and training in the environmental field. For example, Jim Graves, a partner in the Houston office, has 30 years experience counseling environmental clients. Paul Heyburn recently successfully defended his clients in the Eastern District of Texas in a lengthy trial related to the Turtle Bayou waste site. In 2001, M. C. Carrington and Sandra Clark successfully defended our client in an alleged deep well contamination case that was named a Top 10 Defense Verdict by the National Law Journal.
