Toxic Tort

MehaffyWeber represents major national corporations in products liability and premises liability suits brought by plaintiffs alleging personal injury and property damage from environmental and occupational exposure to a variety of products.  The firm has extensive experience in defending claims involving products which allegedly contain such toxic substances as asbestos, silica, coke dust, talc, cadmium, chromium, manganese, beryllium, butadiene, formaldehyde, chlordane, vinyl chloride, various herbicides, zinc, benzene, dioxin, ANA, BNA, and PCB's among others.  The firm uses up to date technology and efficient management practices to successfully defend large dockets.  The firm believes that one size does not fit all.  Some cases need to be tried and our attorneys have extensive trial experience in toxic tort cases.

In addition to the firm's extensive involvement in major toxic tort cases that include large numbers of plaintiffs and defendants, MehaffyWeber presently coordinates the regional defense for several manufacturers and represents other clients on a statewide basis.  In 1994, MehaffyWeber was selected by E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company as one of its primary law firms and represents DuPont in the Gulf Coast region. Since the implementation of asbestos and silica MDL statutes in Texas, Sandra Clark and Barbara J. Barron have served as members of the court advisory committees.
