Grant Carper is a dedicated and experienced associate attorney with a strong background in criminal law and civil litigation. In his previous position in the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Grant handled high-stakes, sensitive cases involving some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Before joining the Harris County District Attorney’s office, Grant served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, a Judicial Intern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and a Government Lawyering Intern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.
Grant earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where he was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Policy. He also participated in the Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic and interned with the MICA Project, working on immigration-related matters. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in World Languages (German and Chinese concentrations) from Southern Methodist University.
Grant brings a detail-oriented and compassionate approach to legal practice, guided by a deep respect for justice and public service.
Outside the courtroom, Grant enjoys audiobooks, studying the ancient world, baseball, coffee, and card games.
