Matthew Garcia joined MehaffyWeber in 2025 as an Associate Attorney. A Houston native, Matthew combines a strong academic foundation with meaningful legal experience to serve clients with diligence and integrity.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University and later obtained his Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. Matthew went on to earn his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
While in law school, Matthew served as a staff writer and editorial board member for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice. He was also a competitor on the St. Mary’s Moot Court team, where he had the unique opportunity to argue before the Texas Supreme Court. Additionally, he served as a law clerk for the Thirteenth Court of Appeals with the Honorable Justice Gina Benavides, gaining valuable insight into appellate practice and judicial decision-making.
Outside of his legal practice, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and following Houston and Texas A&M sports.
