Samuel Gartman joined MehaffyWeber as an associate attorney in 2025. A Louisiana native, Samuel knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in law. Since high school, he has been driven by a passion for advocacy and problem-solving, leading him to become the first in his family to attend law school.

Samuel earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Louisiana State University before attending Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2024. During law school, he served as an Honor Board Representative and worked extensively in Loyola’s Immigration Clinic, representing indigent clients in asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile cases. He also clerked for multiple law firms, gaining hands-on experience in personal injury, criminal defense, and housing law.

After graduation, Samuel began his legal career representing plaintiffs in personal injury, consumer protection, commercial litigation, and property disputes. His experience advocating for plaintiffs has given him valuable insight into litigation strategy, allowing him to transition seamlessly to defense work. Now, he leverages this knowledge to represent clients in insurance defense, trucking litigation, and premises liability cases.

In the community, Samuel is an active member of the Jefferson County Bar Association and the Jefferson County Michele F. Mehaffy Inns of Court. Beyond professional events, you can often find him playing pick-up basketball at the Christus Health and Wellness Center.

Samuel values time spent with family, friends, and his dog. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, golf, boxing, reading, rugby, fitness, scuba diving, and movies.
